Deep Impact movie impression

What I like about the old movies is the substance of the story. The opening part of the movie will already provide a thrill. There will be a strong introduction to the story and it will have an impact on the plot.

Now that I mentioned the word impact, the movie that I watched earlier was the D-"Deep Impact". It's a disaster movie that was directed by Mimi Leder. In this movie's most basic plot, a comet is about to clash with Earth. As the citizens of Earth are crumbling to bring themselves to safety, a group of astronauts were given the mission to deflect the comet's trajectory away from Earth's orbit and prevent the impact.

It was an interesting story now but there was a time before the year 2000 when many movies were themed "disaster" or "extinction". I remember disaster movies have themes like alien invasion, natural disasters, the New Ice Age, solar flares, and many more. It's as if each movie has its prediction of how the earth will go extinct. I remember that in the years before 2000, there were people who believed that the world would end. I guess, they grew fearful because of these kinds of movies.

Among the cast of this movie, there are 3 actors that I'm familiar with. One of them is Morgan Freeman. He has a remarkable face that I can recognize even though the movie was more than 20 years ago.

The next ones are Elijah Wood & Jon Favreau. Elijah Wood is known for the Lord of the Rings trilogy while Jon Favreau is known as the character who plays the assistant of Ironman.

It's so cool that they are still working in the movie industry, 20 years after this movie.

Deep Impact, though it's an old movie, the story still feels relevant and it was very entertaining as well.
