Scar's real name [El verdadero nombre de Scar]

It turns out that the antagonist in The Lion King is not called Scar. This is the nickname they gave him when they gave him the scar. Scar precisely means scar. There are two versions that clarify this issue.

Scar significa justamente cicatriz. Ecisten dos versiones, que aclaran este tema.

The most recent is the one that came out in episode 2 of the third season of the Lion Guard, which is a cartoon for children that continues the story of the Lion King, where the protagonist is Simba's son, called Kion. In that episode Scar tells his own story, saying that when he was young and leader of the lion guard, he met a strange lion whom he accompanied because he was very powerful and could help him get the king's throne. That lion was evil and took him to a place where a snake attacked him and roared so loudly that he made them disappear. When he returned to Mufasa and told him that he had gotten rid of the enemies, he named him Scar. Since then this lion remained angry and frustrated for life.

The other version appeared in a book that came out the same year as the film's release, which is titled The Lion King: A Tale of Two Brothers. There the life of both lions is told when they were younger and Scar's real name is mentioned: Taka. In this story, their father named Ahadi is in charge of teaching his eldest son Mufasa how to be the heir to the throne and he did not pay the same attention to his youngest son Taka. For this reason, Taka, out of jealousy and envy, kept doing his thing against his brother, to harm him or make a fool of him in front of his father. But none of these tricks worked for him. In one of those evil plans, he devised a plan with the hyenas to harm Mufasa, which failed and a buffalo attacked him, scarring his eye. His brother and father come to defend him. Rafiki heals his deep wound and tells him that he will carry that scar for the rest of his life. At that moment his father Ahadi tells him that this will serve as a reminder of his recklessness. Scar pretended that he had learned his lesson and asked his family to call him Scar from then on so he would never forget what he did that day. Taka in Swahili means waste, however, in Japanese, it means Honorable.
