Shrek is one of those movies that we have seen dozens of times and it never bores us. This story is considered by many to be one of the best children's films ever made, although it is dedicated to children and attracts audiences of all ages. 1. Shrek was the first film to receive an Oscar in the animated film category, that is, its franchise beat Disney.

4. Was Severus Snape going to be Lord Farquaad? Alan Rickman who plays the potions professor in Harry Potter was going to voice Lord Farquaad; but the actor couldn't because he was filming the first installment of the magic saga. They ended up giving the role to John Lithgow.

6. In the original version, Cameron Díaz, who voices Fiona, had a small mishap and burped into the microphone which was recorded. The creators laughed a lot at this event and decided to integrate it into the film. Then the reader who plays the donkey, the famous Eddie Murphy, responded spontaneously and also belched and that scene was integrated into the film.
