"Fright Night" is a 1985 horror comedy film directed by Tom Holland. The story revolves around Charley Brewster, a teenager who becomes convinced that his new neighbor, Jerry Dandridge, is a vampire. When Charley's friends and family dismiss his claims, he seeks the help of Peter Vincent, a former horror movie actor who hosts a late-night TV show about the supernatural.

As Charley and Peter investigate, they uncover more evidence of Jerry's vampiric nature, putting themselves in grave danger. The film takes a thrilling and humorous turn as Charley and Peter attempt to outwit and defeat the seductive and deadly vampire next door. "Fright Night" combines elements of horror, humor, and suspense to create an entertaining and iconic vampire tale.

the Cast includes.

  1. Chris Sarandon as Jerry Dandridge
  2. William Ragsdale as Charley Brewster
  3. Amanda Bearse as Amy Peterson
  4. Roddy McDowall as Peter Vincent
  5. Stephen Geoffreys as "Evil" Ed Thompson

Movie Points:

  • The 1985 setting was a delightful treat.
  • The dynamic between Charlie and his friends had a certain cheesiness to it, but the highlight of the dynamic was undoubtedly between Charley and Peter Vincent.
  • Chris Sarandon's portrayal of the vampire, Jerry Dandridge, was quite impressive in that classic 80s cheesy style.
    • Although, I do have one slight complaint about the vampire: Who names their vampire 'Jerry'?
  • The horror and gore effects were also fantastic, providing a genuinely unsettling look and some terrifically horrific deaths."

Rating: High Matinee

This sounds like an interesting movie to see but being it has some element of horror scares me coupled with the fact its an old movie.

I might decide to see it though.. Tgsbks for sharing your review on this.

Its not that super scary it just utilizes terror and suspense as a scare tool than jump scare tactics. As a neophyte horror fan I was not super scared at all. I was horrified but totally different things.
