Weekly Writing Prompts By CineTV - #27
Introduction
It's Monday, which means we're back trying to spark your interest to hopefully find a topic to comment on or write a post about. I try to pick prompts as diverse as possible meaning I pull the ideas from different sources and while sometimes the ideas flow to me very easily, other times I have to get a bit more creative and dig a little deeper or use another approach.
For this week's prompts, I went to my Hive feed to browse for content and see if something I read sparked my interest to create a writing prompt. Sometimes a word is enough to get ideas flowing. Eventually, I only pulled the second prompt from my tweet and the others automatically came to mind while creating the images, I just needed a little inspiration! Let's see what I have collected for you this week:
World Environment Day
This first prompt comes forward from the list of topics I've collected for the CineTV Twitter account. Whenever there's a themed day, I try to create a prompt out of it. I don't catch all of them and sometimes I think they're not interesting enough but world environment day seems to be a great one to see if I can inspire someone to give their contribution to the environment some thoughts.
I personally don't throw out plastic foils on the streets, I either place them in my bag until I'm home, find a garbage bin or in other cases, when more convenient I leave them in the car until we're back home to throw them away there. I don't see the need to throw things on the street and I personally get really annoyed by the way people treat the environment here in Spain. It's not just this area, it was the same in the other places we lived for a while a few years ago.
Take the masks being thrown on the street as an example we all probably noticed over the past years, these end up in the ocean for example, causing sealife a lot of trouble. It's something so unneeded and can be avoided if we just throw our stuff away in the bins that are meant for the garbage. Are you contributing to the environmental issues in a good or bad way? If the latter is the answer, it's not too late to change your ways.
Beer
This prompt was inspired by something I read on my Hive feed as I don't like (so also don't drink) any beer myself. I do have a boyfriend who likes a beer every now and then but that's as far as my knowledge goes. I would not be inspired normally by looking at a beer.
But then there's this whole world of beers out there, you see it in real life, movies, and documentaries, or maybe you know someone that liked a beer a little too much for his own good and ruined his life. It could be that you saw an interesting documentary about the topic or partied very hard last weekend drinking beers. Whatever it was that triggered you to write about the topic is fine. A comment or a post, it's all good as long as I don't have to drink it, haha.
Tapas
This is one topic that is always ongoing for us living in Spain: Tapas. Even if we don't go out for tapas much some weeks, we still enjoy some tapas at home making some smaller snacks in the typical tapas bowls you can see in the image below. Olives in these bowls, for example, are a perfect snack at home as well.
The tapa culture is probably my absolute favorite thing here in Spain, adapting to that lifestyle was not hard (haha) and didn't take long at all! I love having breakfast somewhere outside the house, but I love having tapas somewhere even more because it's quite fun ordering several smaller plates of food and sharing it, trying new things, and not getting broke over doing so.
Thanks to the tapa culture here, I've already learned to eat several new things simply because I tried something new, while I sometimes didn't have a clue what I was ordering. You only live once, right?
Do you like tapas? Do you ever visit a Spanish tapas restaurant or maybe you live in Spain and are used to the culture since the early days? Let me know in a comment or write a post on the CineTV front end if your story is about a movie or documentary etc.
For me, it's time to grab a bowl of olives, not outside but from the comfort of my home!
That's it for this week, I hope you found the prompts useful and I will see you again next week!

I did not know the term TAPAS, but it is interesting to see how in each country each word or linguistic expression has a different meaning.
I guess it's a real Spanish thing then, I didn't know that either as I grew up in Holland and I think most Dutch people (even those that have never been to Spain) know the term tapas. But I can totally see how that's not the same for every part of the world. Tapas are the best if you ask me, cheap and smaller plates which you can share with the people at your table (or not lol) and eat smaller portions instead of what's common in Holland, a big plate and hope for the best. Not only is this a lot cheaper but it's also more fun and you can have a longer round of lunch or dinner this way.
In Holland, I could never go for lunch or dinner with 3 people (boyfriend and daughter) and have 2 soft drinks and a beer plus something to eat for 15 or 20 euros, which is totally possible here.
Thanks for stopping by!

It is incredible to see how it has different meanings, here the word TAPA, refers to a plastic cap, those that are used to seal soda containers. !LUV
