Cine TV Contest #96 - Favorite Movie about Money

avatar

Hello CineTV

I am writing this on Valentine's Day and it hasn't been a great one. But my wife loved the Lego roses I bought her! I hope that your Valentine's Day was better than mine.

My oldest son seemed to be depressed because he was alone again on Valentine's Day and he is only 15. I kept telling him that he has plenty of time to find that special someone but everything seems difficult and frustrating when you are a teenager. Maybe next year!

As for the contest, we had some really good entries. I am so thankful for people entering the contests and I want to encourage new users to get in the contests and give it your best. You never know, you could be like the winners below!

Let's get to the winners!

First Place

The first place finisher was @silviared945 with a choice of Titanic, found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@silviared945/cinetv-contest-titanic-film-del-1997-of-james-cameron

What a great coice! Titanic was such an amazing movie that influential on many young people's lives. It is an interesting love story that really has a tragic Romeo and Juliet feel to it. Congrats!

Second Place

The second place finisher was @jordy0827 with a choice of The Bridges of Madison County found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@jordy0827/cinetv-contest-the-bridges-of-madison-enes

This is a movie that I have not seen but I have heard how great of a romantic movie it is. Your review has inspired me to give it a chance. Maybe my wife would like to watch it! Thanks and congrats!

Third Place

The third place finisher was @marimeche2012 with their choice of Mrs. Doubtfire, found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@marimeche2012/cine-tv-contest-papa-por-siempre-mrs-doubtfire-esp-eng

You are right this is love. Robin Williams' character does whatever it takes to be with his children and that kind of sacrifice is the definition of love. Great choice!

Congrats!

450 CINE COINS will be transferred to the winners.

Now if anyone disagrees with our choices then please tag us in a comment on this post!

And let's move on to the new contest!

Favorite Movie About Money

Money. We all need it at least on some level. And as the saying goes, money makes the world go around. I have been thinking a lot about money as I consider other jobs and the right balance between work and life balance. As Silverchair says in their song "Tomorrow": "You say that money isn't everything, But I'd like to see you live without it."

Enough thinking philosophically about money, because that is not the point of this contest. For this contest, I want you to pick a movie that is about money or has money as a part of the plot. Maybe it's a heist, or maybe it's about investing or crypto, or big lawsuits for millions of dollars, etc. There are so many options that fit into this category off the top of my head. Tag me (caulderfreeman) in Discord if you need help thinking of one! :)

The goal here is to pick a movie that makes sense for the topic, give us an original and robust review of the movie and make sure to tell us how the movie relates to money. Make it personal and be creative! I can't wait to read your selections.

Please check out the list of rules and suggestions below or feel free to ask me in the Discord channel if you have any questions (caulderfreeman). Enjoy this week's contest and good luck!
