Cine TV Community Spotlight #17
Hello and welcome to the 17TH edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. The Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun in a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community and showcase the work of deserving authors.
And it’s all simple. At the end of every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style, and word count. It is not a contest but just our way of creating exposure for the works we enjoyed throughout the week and boosting exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.
So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

Title: Special Ops: Lioness Season 2
Immediately, from the first couple of minutes, Sheridan took us on a suspenseful and shocking trip. She graced the screen with a gripping scene where we witness a group of trained assassins break into a house at night, shooting a man and his son execution Style. Then they kidnapped the wife who tried to run for her life. This woman that was kidnapped happened to be a Spanish Congresswoman in America.

Title: Rant or Review? Tyler Perry's Divorce In The Black
The plot of this film—a faithful wife subjected to abuse and ill-treatment by her husband, torn between granting a divorce and moving on with her life—is good. But the storytelling is the problem here. The movie is about two hours and the first hour is well paced and immerses the audience into the storyline. But the other hour is where things get messed up.

Title: My Weird Experience With The Movie Emancipation
This was all that was on my mind as I watched this movie, especially as I knew it was based on the life of a real life Slave. All the while I was looking at the Peter guy like "how could you? How could you go ahead to give birth to children when you know the fate awaiting them. And you now claim to love them? What could be worse than being born into slavery?"

Title: Sweeney Todd
I also say that the song of Mrs. Lovett and Mr. Todd on the beach is the best because of the costumes used, I love how they were able to mix the Victorian aesthetic with the witty and sinister, I also find Mr. Todd's swimsuit funny that contrasts with his face of displeasure with the idea of living forever receiving the unilateral love of Mrs. Lovett. It is undoubtedly a good musical film that I could watch many times in my life without getting bored.

Title: Surprising End: Buried
At one point Paul falls asleep and wakes up to find a snake in his pants! The snake comes out and Paul finds a way to get rid of it (this part is not for you to find out when you watch the movie). Then Paul learns that the people who kidnapped and buried him also know where his family is and can hurt them too, so he starts doing whatever they tell him to do. Do you think Paul will be able to get out of here?

Title: Don't Move
The way the camera is placed just creates an intimate and relatable point of view where we're seeing the world from Iris's perspective, complete with visual effects that cause the imagery to bend and waver a little the more the injection takes effect. There's also an ongoing series of actions Iris does that illustrate the drug's effect. And I can appreciate how this allows us to see the progression, but it's also not done subtly.

Title: Family Gbese - A Nollywood Dramedy
There are sprinkles of comedy in this movie hence it’s safe to tag this as a dramedy. The character of Gozie, played by Mike Ezuruonye, made this possible. Also, I loved how they spoke the Yoruba and Igbo dialects here. Although Yoruba was used more with subtitles, of course, it is largely due to the movie being set in Lagos State. So that’s absolutely understandable.

Title: My Thoughts on Manila on Night
Honestly, what amazed me was how authentic everything felt. The movie didn’t attempt to sugarcoat anything—it portrayed the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. You see Manila not as some ideal place but as a city brimming with life, struggles, and stories. I loved how each character had their own journey, yet their lives were all intertwined. It was like watching pieces of a puzzle fit together.
And there you have it! Congratulations to all those spotlighted this week. We look forward to more exceptional content. And to everyone posting in the community, we look forward to seeing more of you around.
