Cine TV Community Spotlight #16
Hello and welcome to the 16TH edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. The Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun in a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community and showcase the work of deserving authors.
And it’s all simple. At the end of every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style, and word count. It is not a contest but just our way of creating exposure for the works we enjoyed throughout the week and boosting exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.
So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

Title: Rooting For The Villain and a Tiny Plot Flaw...
This really baffled me, even half way into the movie when suspense had my heart was pounding because I was scared something was going to happen to this guy. I stopped to ask myself why I was rooting so hard for this guy when he's the bad guy. I decided I was wrong for rooting for him, but after a few more moments of watching I was back rooting harder than life for him. It's difficult to help it when you view something from a person's perspective.

Title: Don't Move
This movie draws you in and makes you put yourself in the shoes of the victim. It keeps you mapping out strategies of what you’d do in the unlikely circumstances that it happens to you. While the story builds up, paces quite nicely and climaxes, it gave me a kind of déjà vu feeling …pretty much like I’ve seen this kind of movie before...
…an on-the-road and in-the-woods sort of setting where the psychopathic serial kïller and victim play cat and mouse.

Title: My Top 5 K-Series of 2024
I had a bit of a hard time deciding which would make it to my top 5 as I did a rundown of the ones I've left saved after seeing them, I deleted some and that's the main sign you need to know they were not good enough for a re-watch. But for this list, even though not all are in it, they were all worth my time. I won't be reviewing but just share why I love these series.

Title: Flow
This technique allows for deep immersion in the story without the need for dialogue, and I spent the entire duration of the film worrying about what might happen to the cat or one of his friends. The film also stands out for its ability to address deep and universal themes. Although it is a post-apocalyptic fable, Flow does not focus on moralistic intent. Instead, it offers a reflection on life and human relationships through the perspective of animals.

Title: Whodunnit Meets Sexism in Victorian London
The chemistry between the leads, Miss Scarlet and Inspector Williams aka Duke, is almost magnetic. Their path always seems to clash in every episode even when they don't want it to. Their relationship is sort of feisty, swinging between friendship and enemies. I enjoy every scene where they argue—he finds her annoying because she's smart and always steps ahead of him, and at the end, she helps him solve the cases.

Title: The Neverending Story
I think that for the new generations to see this will be a new experience that will please, it does not have the perfection in effects of today but just the fact of seeing the creatures unfold will be an impact where I consider the positive will prevail, maybe some children will be scared haha but I think even that is fine because it reflects the living visual element of what they want to convey and that at least to me has left me with my imagination done wonders.

Title: BrightBurn: A Review and How It Should Have Ended
I enjoyed this movie because we got to see the dark side of someone with extraordinary power, but I believe this movie would have done well as a series inside a single movie because it left the viewers wanting more without giving them anything since 2019. One thing I love about the movie is the combination of horror and action in it. At first, we all thought the Mc (Brightburn) was going to be a good and helping child, but it turned out he was someone who took things personally.

Title: When The Phone Rings
This intriguing k-drama combines elements of romance, mystery and psychological thriller, capturing the viewer's attention from the very first episode. The series focuses on the lives of two main characters who share a marriage behind the political and social spotlight and whose destinies intertwine in unexpected ways since their youth. Sparks of a terse romance begin to fly when after a kidnapping, Hong Hee-joo is left with a mysterious phone that can only call her husband, Baek Sa-eon, whom she begins to threaten into giving her a divorce.
