The Glory - Season 1 Episode 5 Review: The Real First Blood?

Introduction

The first four episodes slowly establish the plot of the revenge of the protagonists sometimes I thought that the series was slow but then that feeling of slowness where all replaced by interesting scenes which make every episode great in its own right. The director has done a great job in sparingly showing the current events and some of the most important parts of the protagonists in the hands of her bullies.

The Film's Narrative

The film's story is about a secret revelation of who killed one of the students when they were still in high school. The student is a girl who was pushed by someone from the rooftop and died instantly. This episode also shows that the revenge of the protagonist is now in full swing.

Thoughts

"Episode 5" was able to make the series even more interesting because of the mysterious death of one of the antagonists by an unknown assailant. Episode 5 also shows the funny side of the henchman of the protagonists whom she made a pact that they would kill the husband of her henchman because he is physically assaulting her.

Below is a photo of Myeong-O before he was killed before he can flee to Vladivostok.

Though to me "Episode 5" failed my expectation of an intense revenge the plot is still good and merits a four-star out of five stars. At this moment it is still very interesting to think what will happen to her henchman and the henchman's husband. Another that I am deeply thinking about right now is what will happen to the good doctor who is in love with the protagonist.

Just like I said "Episode 5" may lack the very intense revenge but it has lots of mysteries left to be answered. The protagonist sent a toothbrush to one of her bullies. The protagonist is asking for money on the other. Then she manages to get into the head of one of them. And I am sure the protagonist brilliantly planned the death of one of her bullies. She may not have directly killed him but it is for sure that she is the reason why the attacker left no choice but to kill him.

"Episode 5" is brilliant in sparingly showing scene light-hearted scenes to balance the dark side of the series. We all know that in real life revenge is a no-no. But then we must admit that we enjoy what happens in movies. Episode 5 did a good job of balancing the light and bad sides of the series by way of the henchman which proved to be useful. But then I am always anxious about her fate in this series. It would be good if her husband changed for good. Because it is all we want, happily ever after.

Another mystery to look out for in the next episode is the act of Young-ae who seems to be talking to someone while accompanied by a mysterious person. Her acts seem to prove that there is something huge going on and it will have a huge on the coming episodes. Thought it has nothing to do directly with the protagonists I am sure there is a connection between her act and the protagonists. The series is getting more and more interesting while I am very close at watching the last episode. Stay tuned.

Conclusion

Episode 5 seems to have that balance that I am always looking forward to on a dark-themed series. Though Episode 5 has lots of mysterious left unanswered it was able to satisfy me to see what I am looking forward to in this series, to see how the revenge materializes. Now that Episode 5 has shown the death on one of the bullies it is interesting to see what will happen next to the remaining bullies.
