"Shaun of the Dead" directed by Edgar Wright - Funny and Entertaining Zombie Film

Introduction

There are lots of Zombie movies that I watched already but "Shaun of the Dead" went under my radar. I casually browsing a social media platform yesterday and I saw a clip of Shaun of the Dead. The clip is a funny zombie scene which is why I was convinced to watch it and write a review about it.

The Film's Narrative

The film's story is about a salesman whose have a lowly life and then a catastrophic event happens and his life is transformed overnight.

Thoughts

"Shaun of the Dead" was able to establish that is a carefree and funny film through a scene of the protagonist's girlfriend talking about her likes and dislikes but then it was revealed that the ones she is talking to are with them, it was so funny indeed.

Below is the screenshot where the protagonist and his leading lady are talking about what they don't like, but then, apparently, the ones they are talking to are with them.

Another scene of "Shaun of the Dead" where the leading man is talking about what he dislikes, but then, apparently the ones he is talking to are also, with them, haha. So, funny.

Below is the screenshot where the leading man is talking about what he dislikes but then the one he is talking to about is also with them.

"Shaun of the Deam" lacked the seriousness that can be found in some zombie comedy films but then, it is a comedy so maybe the director just made this film so carefree that it lacked some serious scenes to balance the film which I take okay, because, it is a comedy.

"Shaun of the Dead" is brilliant in showing how carefree and comedic the film is. For example, there's a scene where the protagonist and his best friend thought that the girl in their backyard was so drunk, but then they found out that the girl was not actually drunk but a zombie.

Below is a scene where the protagonist and his best friend first encounter a zombie.

I think what "Shaun of the Dead" different from the rest of the zombie films is that its ending is very different in a way that the zombies aren't really that very violent and that they can be trained and they can still understand just like a normal toddler would.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a funny zombie movie that will not make you that scared then Shaun of the Dead is for you. It has all the funny scenes that you can imagine and there is a bit of drama too. Aside from that Shaun of the Dead has that happy ending that we always want to see in any film.
