"Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" by Alfonso Cuarón: The Truth We've All Been Waiting For

Intro

The first two Harry Potter films were huge box office hits, and the third installment of the franchise "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is also a hit. Both films are great in their own right on how they were made this third film "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is also great in its own right. I thought I would be fatigued in watching Harry Potter but I did and I am not on this third film.

Narrative

The narrative of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is about the exciting and unique story of Harry Potter facing a threat from the so-called Prisoner of Azkaban escapee, Sirius Black. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is also full of surprises and twists throughout.

Thoughts

In this third film, I noticed that it starts again at the house of Harry Potter's uncle and auntie, which I think is a great start that takes a nod from the first two films. As usual, his uncle kept checking on Harry Potter because Harry was again making such a noise that his uncle couldn't tolerate. Also, the acts of oppression are still very much alive in the family of Harry Potter's uncle and auntie. It was at this moment I started to think why Harry Potter did not just buy a house because he has a lot of money that his parents left for him.

Just under five minutes into the film the first surprise came when the sister of Harry Potter's uncle, Auntie Marge was transformed by Harry Potter into a balloon (see image below) making her float into the air until she was out of reach of his uncle who tried his best not to let off her sister.

The mystery came early in the film when Harry Potter was forced to leave the house of his uncle. He left with his belongings with him. His uncle said he had nowhere to go but he insisted that he'd be better off away from them. Then while Harry Potter is sitting near the gutter a mysterious black figure in the form of a black panther (see image below ) suddenly appears from the grasses prompting Harry Potter to draw his wand but he loses his balance and the Knight Bus appears which of course a bus of the wizarding world which is an emergency transport for stranded witch or wizard.

I was also surprised that a book (see image below) that is alive appeared in the film. At first, I thought this book was hostile and could kill a person but it turns out that it is just a pesky book that likes to attack anyone that touches and comes into contact with. Harry Potter dealt with this kind of book when I stepped on it with all his weight.

The film's suspense officially starts when the father Ron talks to Harry Potter about Sirius Black who apparently knew that Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban in order to find Harry Potter and kill him. At this moment, thinking the Sirius Black being able to escape from Azkaban tells us that he is a powerful wizard who is also a follower of Voldemort.

The suspense of the film heightened when Harry, Ron, and Hermione came face to face with a Dementor. A being that is the guardian of Azkaban. They were out to find Sirius Black who is the only prisoner able to escape the prison of Azkaban. It is also nice to see Harry Potter ride a creator called Buckbeak the hippogriff (see image below).

I was surprised when there was a map given to Harry Potter. The map shows everyone on Hogwarts where they are, what they do, on every minute of every day. Sure, I am impressed with the living pictures inside the castle and the talking ghosts that roam around but I am more impressed with the map so far (see image below).

The plot of the film starts to get a little bit clearer when Harry Potter follows Professor McGonagall inside a room while she is talking about Sirius Black which revealed to be the godfather of Harry Potter. From then on, the plot becomes more exciting as I slowly come to know the plot and who really Sirius Black is.

In the first two films, Hagrid was portrayed as a gentle giant and he still is in this film. His gentleness becomes once again when he sobs because Buckbeak was sentenced to death because of what had happened to Draco Malfoy.

The mystery grew more intense when Harry Potter was staring at the map when he saw Peter Pettigrew in it (Peter Pettigrew was believed to be killed by Sirius Black). I am also very curious why Peter Pettigrew was on the map even if he was said to have been killed by Sirius Black years ago in a busy street in London. Harry Potter then tried to pursue Peter Pettigrew but he was not able to see him even if he was seeing him on the map. After he was not able to see Peter Pettigrew's Harry Potter to Lupin the map is not accurate because it shows Peter Pettigrew in it.

Then came the moment of truth when Harry, Ron, and Hermione finally met Sirius Black together with Lupin. Little did the three (Ron, Harry, and Hermione know that Peter Pettigrew was indeed alive and transformed himself into a rat. Then came the mother of all revelations when it was revealed that Peter Pettigrew was indeed the one who betrayed the parents of Harry Potter (not Sirius Black). Peter Pettigrew framed Sirius Black so that he would be the one to blame for the death of Harry's parents. In turn, Peter Pettigrew cut one of his fingers and transformed himself into a rat. Sirius Black then improved without a trial.

Aside from the mother of all revelations, it was also revealed that Lupin is a Werewolf and Sirius Black is the large black dog.

Conclusion

This third installment of the Harry Potter series of movies is still magnificent. The surprises, the uniqueness, and the twists all were masterfully crafted into this movie making it a great Harry Potter movie in its own right. This is a must-watch movie.

Harry's films without that intro are not films. Guys always have to see something important in his life, if you can, read the books and you'll understand it better.

It is one of the best films of the saga and from there begins the real thread of everything else.

I recommend you to put the source to the images.

Regards and I liked your review.
