K-series seems to have not run out of great romance comedies. I started watching Korean romance comedies during the pandemic when there was nothing else to do. Some actors and actresses I like to watch are Yoon Kyun-sang and Kim Yoo-Jung. I learned about Kim Yoo-jung from a commercial for her romance comedy on YouTube. I like her personality that is why I like to watch her. And one of her series that I like very much is "Clean with Passion for Now".

The narrative of the first episode of "Clean with Passion Now" is about the misadventures, misfortunes, and struggles of Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) with life. She is a hard worker and persistent in finding a job so that she can provide for her family's needs.

This episode is funny, hilarious, sad, embarrassing, and full of twists. This episode did a great job of portraying the condition of Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) which is Mysophobia (fear of dirt and or contamination). Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) is also perfect for the role since he looks very neat. One of the scenes that portray the cleanliness of Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) is the scene when he is eating his breakfast (check the image below).

It is so funny when the episode further shows the condition of Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) when he is meeting a girl in a cafe, he disinfects the table of the cafe to everyone's amusement while the girl he is about to meet is still on the way. The staff offered to wipe the table but he said that he was going to do it (see image below).

The girl that Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) is meeting looks neat at first sight but I was surprised that there is an earwax left in her ear (see image below). Seeing the earwax Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) panicked and his mysophobia started kicking in so he courteously left as fast as he could.

This episode showed that mysophobia is not just all about visible dirt Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) is also unable to be with an untidy person just like how the scene ended when he tried to talk to Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) because Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) looks untidy and seems to haven't taken a bath yet (see image below).

The episode has a lot of funny moments, one example is when Choi Ha-in / Daniel Choi (Song Jae-rim) goes out of the bathroom of Gil Oh-sol's (Kim Yoo-jung) bathroom with only a towel covering his whole body. Startled, Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) started screaming and so did Daniel Choi. It was a typical scene between a girl and a man.

What mostly stands out to me in this episode is the film editing, the background music, and the script. All are great, funny, and hilarious. The way the director made the episode and put it together in a one-hour episode is amazing. Inside that one hour, there are a lot happened and it was very fast-paced.

The friend of Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) also did a good job in her supporting role.

The most embarrassing scene of the episode came when Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) tried to work as a "trash man". It was so embarrassing I could not watch it myself. A job well done for the director on this particular scene because it makes me feel embarrassed.

One of the twists came when it was shown that the vacuum cleaner was actually a gift from the former house cleaner of Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang). I cannot imagine that it has sentimental value for Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang). Then I got it when a scene between Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) in his former cleaner which named Geum Ja. Geum Ja is also the name that Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) gave the vacuum cleaner.

Another twist in the episode is between Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) and the man with whom she had a huge crush. But then it turned out that the man was only using Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) she found out when she was called by him to his office only to do a commercial for him.

Another funny scene near the end of the episode is when Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) sprays a lot of disinfectant inside the elevator when the man (Gil Oh-Sol's crush) is also inside. I think Jang Seon-kyul (Yoon Kyun-sang) did it on purpose to spray a lot of disinfectant inside the elevator because he realized that the man was a womanizer which started when he saw Gil Oh-sol (Kim Yoo-jung) having a conversation with him previously. It was a sweet revenge that Gil Oh-sol never knew. Also, for me, it is also a sweet revenge because the man is a blatant womanizer.

This is one of the best K-series that I have seen so far. It is funny, hilarious, embarrassing, full of twists, and can also make you cry. The editing is also great. The costumes are great too. The actors and actresses were all great too! The soundtrack, background music, and sound effects are all amazing. The elements that you may want to see in a romance comedy series are all in this first episode of the series. If you are into romance comedy and if you want to explore another country's series this is a perfect one. The story is also unique because I think this is the first time that I have seen such a story. I knew about mysophobia but I can't remember any series or movie that centers around mysophobia as part of the narrative.

If you haven't seen a K-series before this is the perfect series to start. I actually already finished watching all the episodes of this series. I wanted to watch it again so I decided to write a review about it. This is not the only K-series in which Kim Yoo-jung stars there are others like the one when she is a "part-timer" in a convenience store.
