UNUSUAL NEIGHBOUR

Written by Afes Mike, directed and produced by Etinosa Idemudia, is this movie titled “Unusual Neighbor."

This 2025 thriller highlights what could possibly go wrong when a person purchases a house without properly going through every detail of the documents, failing to do thorough investigations prior.

PLOT

Bella and her husband Chris buy a house 'far away from civilisation.'

Even though Chris is reluctant about the purchase having eerie vibes around the house, Bella manages to convince him.

Their lives are about to take a drastic turn as their new neighbor Gabriel is up to no good.

What would the couple do to get out of this situation with Gabriel? In short, can they escape his antics at all?

MY TAKE

This movie did not beat about the bush as it went straight to business, hence the impressive duration. All the actors were natural and it made watching this relaxing.

My best character has to be Gabriel played by Afes! The dude really has all the elements for a thriller role. He can also pass for a horror movie. And I don’t mean this in a demeaning manner. It’s a good quality.

He embodied his role so much so that you are drawn into his character enough to hate him and still want to love him. I kept asking myself “what kind of a delulu neighbor is this one!” Very strange, somebody!

I’ll blame Bella for how she handled things with him, too. How do you allow a male neighbour to join you in the kitchen to help you cook food that your husband will eat. Someone you just met! Like, who does that?

Although this movie is interesting, I, however, find some of the dialogue to have been repetitive and bereft of believability.

The picture quality was equally poor as some of the scenes appeared dark due to inadequate lighting. This may have been to give off dark vibes for the genre of movie but not when it’s not shot mostly night time. So it was obviously a camera setting and other editing plus post-production issues.

Be that as it may, the movie passed its message to the effect of encouraging people to carefully read documents before signing them and also exposes the fact that some persons who give marital advice online do not apply it in their homes as seen in Bella’s case.
Oh, how i loved the ending.
All that reviewed, this film comes recommended at the rating of 3/5.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
