In 9 days we are finally going to meet up!
Here comes a list of tips and important information ⬇️

We are going to meet on Saturday at 09:00 AM near the Metro station "Landungsbrücken" at exactly this spot:

We will enjoy a good morning coffee while waiting for another 30 minutes. From there we start our journey as described in our timetable. If you are not able to join there you can always use the web app to meet us at any other spot of the day.
Important note about the dinner on Saturday: The 2 booked restaurants (vegan / greek) do not support plastic money. Please take some cash with you - even though the main dish will get paid by us!
Everything else will get communicated on-site and on our communication channels (see below).
deutsche übersetzungWir treffen uns am Samstag um 09:00 Uhr in der Nähe der U-Bahn-Station "Landungsbrücken" an der oben markierten Stelle.
Dort warten wir so ca. 30 Minuten und genießen einen Kaffee. Anschließend starten wir unser Abenteuer wie im Zeitplan beschrieben. Wenn Du dort noch nicht dabei sein kannst, schau in die Web-App, um an einem anderen Ort zu uns zu stoßen :)
Wichtige Info bzgl. dem Abendessen am Samstag: Bitte bringt ein bisschen Bargeld mit, da die beiden reservierten Restaurants keine Kartenzahlung akzeptieren.
Alles Weitere wird vor Ort und über unsere Kommunikationskanäle (siehe unten) kommuniziert.

BuzzParty 2024 - Web App
In case you get lost or simply want to inform yourself about the speakers, sponsors, timetable, or locations there is a web app all about the event. If your mobile phone supports it, we recommend you save it as an app to have it on hand easily.
I hope the app will handle the number of requests and will stay stable over the weekend ;) If not please shoot me a message via Telegram or Discord.

T O U R I S T I C S
Safety
Hamburg is a big city with a lot of "criminal potential". So take care of your luggage, handbags, wallets, and so on. Make sure to read this article about safety in Hamburg.If you are at the Reeperbahn don't get involved with the many beautiful girls trying to talk to you. They just wanna sell you "something" ;)
Bike Lanes
Try to avoid walking on the reddish lines which are the bike lanes in Hamburg. Bikers are a bit rude and often a bit careless...Schietwetter (Rainy) 😭
Unfortunately the weather forecast is not looking good so make sure to take an umbrella and weatherproof clothing with you! It can still change to the good 🤞
Parking
If you come to Hamburg by car and your hotel does not offer a parking spot then the cheapest way to park is outside of the city center and Altona. There are many free parking spots in the outer circle for example in these areas.Of course make sure you have a good connection from your parking spot to your hotel and the city center before parking and leaving your car ;)
Transportation
Taxis are fairly expensive in Hamburg and often take longer than public transport. The city is very well-connected via trains, metros, and busses so I really recommend you to check out public transport only.Public Transport Information
Google has okay results when you search for public transport connections via maps. If you want to become a true local then make sure to use https://www.hvv.de/en which is the official public transport website with all details and options.Public Transport Tickets
Day Tickets are usually the best deal. If you will not get out of the city center then AB is perfectly fine.
But: If you are planning to visit attractions that are not listed in our timetable then it could be a good idea to buy the Hamburg Card directly when you have arrived. You can get them at tourist information located at the airport and many big train stations. You will save on public transport and you'll also get huge discounts on many attractions around Hamburg.

Hamburg ist eine große Stadt mit einigem "Kriminalitätspotential". Also pass bitte auf Dein Gebpäck und Deine Wertgegenstände auf. Falls Du mal auf der Reeperbahn unterwegs bist, lasse Dich nicht von den vielen hübschen Frauen in ein Gespräch verwickeln.. Die wollen Dir nur "etwas" verkaufen ;)
Fahrradwege
Bitte vermeide, auf den roten Radwegen zu gehen oder stehen zu bleiben. Radfahrer in Hamburg sind etwas frech und unaufmerksam ;)
Schietwetter
Leider sieht der Wetterbericht nicht so rosig aus. Bitte denk an wetterfeste Kleidung und Deinen Regenschirm.
Parken
Wenn Du mit dem Auto nach Hamburg kommst und Dein Hotel keinen Parkplatz anbietet, kannst Du kostenlos außerhalb des Stadtzentrums und von Altona parken. Natürlich wäre es gut, wenn Du vor dem Verlassen Deines Autos nach einer guten Verbindung von Parkplatz zum Hotel und zum Stadtzentrum suchst ;)
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Taxis sind ziemlich preisintensiv und meist langsamer als andere öffentliche Verkehrsmittel. Hamburg ist super vernetzt mit S- und U-Bahn und Bussen weshalb wir Öffis 100% empfehlen.
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel - Infos
Google Maps ist recht gut, was die Suche nachg Verbindungen angeht aber wenn Du wirklich genaue und zuverlässige Infos suchst, bist Du auf https://hvv.de am besten aufgehoben. Das ist die offizielle Website der Hamburger Verkehrsbetriebe.
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel - Tickets
Tagestickets sind eigentlich die beste Wahl und hier reicht für das Fahren im größeren Stadtzentrum der Tarifbereich AB.
Falls Du aber Attaktionen außerhalb des offiziellen Zeitplans besuchen möchtest, macht die Hamburg Card am meisten Sinn. Damit fährst Du im öffentlichen Nahverkehr kostenlos und erhälst zum Teil sehr hohe Preisnachlässe bei Sehenswürdigkeiten wie z.B. Hamburger Dungeon etc.

The cash info thing is just for the dinner because only the main dish is sponsored. Same goes for the closing dinner on Sunday but they did not tell us to take cash with us :)
