My review of the Movie : Afamefuna An Nwa Boy story

This movie has been trending on Netflix for some weeks but I kept ignoring it not until I saw some reviews about it which makes me interested in watching it.

The storyline was topnotch and there was a scene that reminded me of a past memory.

A scene where Odogwu ate in the Office and after he was done, He called his apprentice to take and eat the rest.

Years ago, I was working in a factory that remade used Cartons, we were just 3 working for my boss and he would take turns sending us food, when he had eaten to his satisfaction, he would call one of us to come and carry the remaining so we can eat and wash the plate, it is something I always look up to because the food is delicious, so seeing such act in this movie brought back that memory.

Not to deviate from the Movie storyline, it was about a boy named Afamefuna who was brought from the village to the city to become an apprentice under one of their village's wealthy men called Odogwu who is based in the city and has a big shop he sells goods...

Odogwu has many apprentices serving under him and at some point, if he is pleased with them or they have spent many years with him not breaking his rules, he will set up their own business for them by giving them shop and the capital to start it.

He placed Afam under Paulo one of his old Apprentices... Odogwu has a beautiful daughter that all his apprentices admire, even Afam falls in love with her at first sight but he is heartbroken months later when he realizes Paulo and Amaka are in a secret relationship and this went on for many years.

Afam was a good apprentice, he never stole from Odogwu unlike the rest, The boss noticed all this and decided to give Afam his freedom and set up a business for him, but this did not sit well with Paulo as he felt he was the next since Afam met him there so this created hatred the two of them.

Years later, Afam saw Amaka again and confessed his feelings to her at that time, Amaka was still dating Paulo even though Paulo was not ready to settle down, so Amaka took one stupid step before he decided to marry Afam which is the main reason for this post.

There is one thing that is common in my country, ladies giving their ex last sex before moving on, I have read countless stories where a lady would be getting married next week and he would visit her ex-boyfriend to have some good time with him, they call it departing gift and this is one reason why some first sons are bastard, they are a product of their mother's infidelity and dumbness and the innocent husband would be spending and taking care of a bastard without knowing.

This is what happened in this movie too, Amaka visited Paulo and they had sex, after he left Paulo's house, she went to meet Afam and said Yes she would marry him, Imagine having sex with two men the same day, unfortunately the sex got her pregnant but the father was Paulo the ex, not Afam the husband.

This caused a big problem for Afam as Paulo started using it to blackmail him, he extorted millions from him by threatening that he would expose the real father of the child. In the end, Afam was free but in reality, not all men survived this, some get wrecked because of their wife's infidelity.

The film Afamefuna is a nice movie and I am recommending it for y'all to watch!.
