You know, at one point or the other in our lives, we’ve probably watched horror films. They’re one of my favorite genres, but this is not for everyone. However, it’s not possible that a person, especially an adult can’t have watched even one horror film in their life. That sounds like a film trick.

Anyway, for this post, lovers of horror movies will understand very well what I’m about to talk about. And then, even those who are not that into horror will also understand because it’s not something that’s as rare as we would like, considering how many characters tend to do it. And what is this mysterious thing? Characters make dumb choices that usually always end up in their death.

2dk2RRM2dZ8gKjXsrozapsD83FxL3Xbyyi5LFttAhrXxr16mCe4arfLHA37mQtCuynkak9C9VAxm3nacdB7gLmLiZLuYVhHeNsRgxL6WKJoam3hs2B7ZLAp2jwaLFEwoAbLKzAfpv2DhtyvHbJunTbU58RMbxtkvefNK4qj8EA.png

First off, there are some things that will never be understood about some characters. Like going into a stranger’s house. As in, if you’re going somewhere for the first time and you don’t find whoever you’re looking for, the first thing that will cross your mind is going into their house. Like, seriously? Just because the door is open it doesn’t mean you’re welcome to come in. And even worse, characters can begin to investigate and touch things, even going as far as entering the potentially dangerous basement.

At this stage, whatever happens to you, just take it with your full chest. Because I’m sure if I saw someone walking about in my house like that, I’m probably going to attack first and ask questions later as well. You see, this is one behavior I will never understand because there is no way I’ll enter a stranger’s house without the stranger there with me every step of the way. What if something goes missing and they blame me? What kind of explanation will I give them? But then, these characters don’t think of petty things like this.

Another cliché about horror films is how characters usually seem to forget to lock the doors when they’re running for their lives. Is this an actual thing? Because I have to admit, I’ve never been in such a situation before, but I believe if I do get into one, I won’t forget to close the door behind me if I’m being chased, or make sure the man I shot is actually dead before tossing the gun/knife away.

I know they do this for suspense and to prolong the movie, but after a while, it becomes kinda silly. Someone kidnaps your daughter, you manage to corner them and shoot them. Instead of you to make sure they’re dead for real, you drop the gun to go hug your daughter and tell her everything is okay. But then, the dead guy is not dead after all and rises to his feet. So, you and your daughter run off again and you’ve conveniently forgotten that there’s a gun right beside your foot. Please, have you been in such a situation before? Was this how you reacted?

However, there are some aspects that may seem silly but I will understand if I find myself in such situations. One of which is hearing strange noises in my house. It doesn’t matter where the noise is coming from; the basement or the attic, I’m going there to investigate. Because that’s my house, and if spirits and ghosts wanna take up residence, then they better be ready to pay me!

And then, dropping your keys when you’re panicked and running for your life, trying to get away is also something that could happen. The surge of adrenaline through your veins will make your entire system excited and your hands will be shaking terribly. Even if you don’t drop the keys, you might find it hard to slide them into the keyhole. It’s possible you won’t even get it on the first try.

But then, there’s one thing I’m kind of on the fence about; falling while running. I believe running for your life is the best kind of running you will ever get to do. Your focus will be sharper than ever then, so it’s possible that you will never fall down. After all, people achieve remarkable feats when they are terrified. Someone can jump down from a two-story building or vault a fence when their lives are in danger. So, it wouldn’t make sense to fall, would it?

But the thing is, if you’re being chased, it’s a whole different ballgame. The smart thing to do is look forward and run as you like, but if you’ve been chased before, you’re always gonna look back. It's like we have this innate need in us to always look back and see just how close the threat is to us, maybe we believe it will serve to boost our speed when it’s only slowing us down. If you’ve been chased by a dog before, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

2dk2RRM2dZ8gKjXsrozapsD83FxL3Xbyyi5LFttAhrXxr16mCe4arfLHA37mQtCuynkak9C9VAxm3nacdB7gLmLiZLuYVhHeNsRgxL6WKJoam3hs2B7ZLAp2jwaLFEwoAbLKzAfpv2DhtyvHbJunTbU58RMbxtkvefNK4qj8EA.png

And so, there is no way you can be running forward and looking backward without losing your step eventually. And sooner or later, Humpty Dumpty is gonna have a great fall! So, as I said, this is one aspect I’m still on the fence about because it can go either way.

I love horror movies, and I always will. If another movie drops today with all these clichés I’ve mentioned, I’ll still watch it and have a great time while at it. All I’m saying is that while some behaviors don’t make sense, there are some that do make sense. And I’m sure that if we found ourselves in the same situations as them, we would do the exact same thing.

Or, won’t you?

Hehe. I am thinking what to say because you almost said everything 🤣🤣.
I think the movie writers are limited in some old ideas and as well as they are getting public concern, they don't want to write something creative in this kind of movies.

Being unique these days can be risky, because when it comes down to it all, it's all about money. They do what they know will sell. Trying something new might mean that no one will watch it.

avatar

Really?
Some people go into the house of strangers just like that?
Una get mind ooh, lol
And later we will be hearing justice for one person

avatar

It happens only in movies, which is usually what makes it annoying. I don't think people in real life just walk into stranger's houses like that.
Hmm... or do they?🤔

avatar

I can relate with these analysis. I don't like horror movies much because I am too fainthearted. The aspect of entering someone's house after not meeting them is silly to me too. It's an intentional dangerous venture.

avatar

Yeah... but then, if they don't put themselves in dangerous situations, how will the movie be interesting?

avatar

That's true. Such scene creates continuity.

This is true, some time ago, all our friends were watching a scary movie in the same way, but one of our friends was afraid. If the condition worsened, it is better that people who are afraid should not show such films at all. Later we were also very sorry.
