My favourite old Skoda is one I never heard of... Ferat Vampire RSR
Earlier I was reading a very interesting post by @ahmetay and his admiration for the Skoda brand, especially when comes to the new Skoda Fabia. It truly looks to be a great new addition to the Range. My brother's girlfriend has a black edition Fabia Monte Carlo, and she seems to be over the moon with it, but she hopes to put it up for sale soon.
Anyway, this triggered a memory I had a few weeks ago when I took my daughter to the children's car museum. It was run by the Favourit group in Moscow, but it had soviet pedal cars, and proper soviet cars.
I was looking through all the photographs and I saw a Skoda I had never seen before.
Ths Skoda had the nickname 'Ferat'.
In normal Skoda language, it was called the Skoda Supersport 110, which I believe only made it to the concept stage, but they made a special version called the Ferat, for a horror film called Vampire from Ferat (Upír z Feratu) many years later. I believe it never made it out of concept stage for many reasons, and they didn't have a serious power plant which would suit it.
Here is a clip I found on youtube, do you like it. I love the front end view :)
