A Fabled Holiday - Christmas Contest [ENG-ESP]
En esta época me encanta ver películas navideñas y mi canal favorito para hacerlo es Studio Universal canal que reemplazó Hallmark Channel en el 2010. Aquí podemos encontrar a partir de noviembre un especial “Navi lovers” 24/7 para los amantes de este tipo de películas y que generalmente son producidas por Hallmark. Soy de las que puedo pararme en la mañana y colocar el canal en el televisor y pasar todo el día viéndolas.
Me encanta como el espíritu de la navidad se desborda en cada una de ellas, en la ambientación, dónde la decoración de la locaciones son full navidad, hay nieve (aunque no en todas) pero lo más importante es que siempre contienen valores positivos, mensajes familiares de unión, reflexión y con un final feliz. De verdad que este tipo de película te mantienen feliz porque nunca pasa nada malo.
At this time of the year I love to watch Christmas movies and my favorite channel to do so is Studio Universal channel that replaced Hallmark Channel in 2010. Here we can find from November a special ”Navi lovers “ 24/7 for lovers of this type of movies and that are usually produced by Hallmark. I am one of those who can get up in the morning and put the channel on the TV and spend the whole day watching them.
I love how the spirit of Christmas overflows in each one of them, in the setting, where the decoration of the locations are full Christmas, there is snow (although not in all of them) but the most important thing is that they always contain positive values, family messages of union, reflection and with a happy ending. Truly, this type of movie keeps you happy because nothing bad ever happens.
Las historias son variadas y aunque algunas pueden verse como repetitivas y predecibles por qué tienen similitudes como que hay un pueblo en el que la navidad es llevada al extremos, sabemos quién se va a enamorar de quien, y toda la historia terminan como queremos, pues estas películas son hermosas y me encantan.
Magia Navideña
Aunque en la mayoría de estas película la magia viene de las personas, de la empatía, amor, amistad, solidaridad y buena vibra, también podemos encontrar aquellas que tienen magia verdadera y por eso quise escribir está reseña de A Fabled Holiday porque me pareció diferente a todas las demás.
The stories are varied and although some can be seen as repetitive and predictable because they have similarities like there is a town where Christmas is taken to extremes, we know who is going to fall in love with whom, and the whole story ends the way we want it to, well these movies are beautiful and I love them.
Christmas Magic
Although in most of these movies the magic comes from people, empathy, love, friendship, solidarity and good vibes, we can also find those that have real magic and that’s why I wanted to write this review of A Fabled Holiday because it seemed different from all the others.
Talia es una escritora que siente que no es tan buena y que su imaginación se le ha desaparecido, ella recibe inesperadamente una invitación para pasar navidad en un pueblo que no conoce y al no tener otros planes para estas fechas decide aceptarla.
Al llegar a la posada se encuentra con que los otros huéspedes también han llegado allí por casualidad y entre ellos se encuentra su amigo de la infancia Anderson, quien es médico y está pasando por un periodo de depresión al haber perdido a su primer paciente. También se encuentra una pareja de abogados quienes atraviesan problemas en su matrimonio a causa del exceso de trabajo y por ultimo un viudo muy triste.
Los habitantes principales del pueblo son los dueños de la posada, su hija, el ayudante de la posada y la dueña del restaurante. Personas aparentemente normales pero que están llenas de magia.
Talia is a writer who feels that she is not so good and that her imagination is gone, she unexpectedly receives an invitation to spend Christmas in a town she does not know and having no other plans for these dates decides to accept it.
When she arrives at the inn she finds that the other guests have also arrived there by accident and among them is her childhood friend Anderson, who is a doctor and is going through a period of depression after losing his first patient. There is also a couple of lawyers who are having problems in their marriage due to overwork and finally a very sad widower.
The main inhabitants of the town are the owners of the inn, their daughter, the inn’s assistant and the owner of the restaurant. Seemingly normal people but full of magic.
Desde que Talía llegó al pueblo, la posada y el paisaje se le hicieron familiares, sintió que vivía como un déjà vu, tanto piensa que su imaginación empieza a fluir y recuerda haber leído cuando era pequeña un libro que le regaló su papá sobre Wunderbrook, que trata de un pueblo mágico con un rey, una reina, una princesa, un bufón y una bruja.
El pueblo organiza una serie de actividades navideñas para los huéspedes de la posada, pero la noche más importante es cuando celebran La Noche de las Maravillas.
Cuando consulta con el resto de los huéspedes, todos coinciden en que han leído el mismo libro, pero ninguno piensa como ella y no pueden ver las coincidencias con lo que están viviendo.
Since Talia arrived in town, the inn and the scenery became familiar to her, she felt she was living like déjà vu, so much thinking her imagination starts to flow and she remembers reading when she was little a book her dad gave her about Wunderbrook, which is about a magical town with a king, a queen, a princess, a jester and a witch.
The town hosts a number of Christmas activities for the inn’s guests, but the most important night is when they celebrate The Night of Wonders.
When she consults with the rest of the guests, they all agree that they have read the same book, but none of them think as she does and cannot see the coincidences with what they are experiencing.
Me gustó mucho esta película porque no se centra en una persona, sino en varias, con diferentes problemas personales que deben superar y por eso son llevados a este pueblo mágico donde sin saberlo encuentran la ayuda que necesitan.
Quizás estas sean las últimas personas que sientan la magia de Wunderbrook ya que ahora no todo el mundo lee y la historia del primer libro es antigua y no atrae a las nuevas generaciones. Pero quizás las cosas cambien con un nuevo libro y la incorporación de nuevos personajes. Es posible que veamos más películas con este pueblo.
I really liked this movie because it does not focus on one person, but on several, with different personal problems that they must overcome and so they are brought to this magical town where they unknowingly find the help they need.
Perhaps these are the last people who will feel the magic of Wunderbrook since now not everyone reads and the story of the first book is old and does not appeal to the new generations. But maybe things will change with a new book and the addition of new characters. It is possible that we will see more movies with this town.

He visto muy pocas películas de navidad, porque me parecen tan cursis y predecibles, pero la magia y las coincidencias me gusta, que los problemas se resuelvan solo por estar en navidad, es genial.

Es que eso es lo grandioso, que te contagian del espíritu de la navidad y como solo son para ver en estas fechas, ya me queda el resto del año para ver otros géneros.
Pero si, son sencillas, predecibles y no existe la maldad. Todo es felicidad y con mucha gente amante de la navidad. Jajaja
