Hello my dear friends of Movies & TV Shows, I hope you are having a great day! In this opportunity I come to share with you the review of a movie that fascinated me, one of those that drive me crazy in the most enormous of the senses, like so many that I have already shared with you.

You know that I love movies about personal improvement, inspiring, and if they are based on a true story, so much the better. Well, this is the case of Nyad, which in just a few minutes comes to tell a story of the most inspiring to leave us running (or rather, swimming) towards our dreams.

Hola mis queridos amigos de Movies & TV Shows, espero que estén pasando un día espectacular! En esta oportunidad vengo a compartir con ustedes la reseña de una película que me fascinó, de esas que me enloquecen en el enorme de los sentidos, como tantas que ya he compartido con ustedes.

Saben que me gustan mucho las películas de superación personal, inspiradoras, y si están basadas en una historia real, mucho mejor. Pues bien, es el caso de Nyad, que tan solo en unos minutos viene a contar una historia de lo más inspiradora para dejarnos corriendo (o mejor dicho, nadando) hacia nuestros sueños.

Plot

The film is about a woman in her 60's who is willing to swim the Florida - Cuba stretch, through the very sea, without any help other than a good training and a boat that goes next to her just watching her, checking that everything is going well.

The protagonist was a swimmer and when she was young she had tried this same challenge without success, having to give up almost at the last moment because her life was at stake, but more than 30 years have passed and the woman still had that pending, so she decides to fulfill her dream and goal, without caring at all about her age and against any limiting message that can be told from the outside.

While the woman works to achieve her dream, flashes of her childhood haunt her in some way, also sending her messages and showing how there are facts and events in a person's life, that if they are not healed, they will be there latent, waiting to surface at some moment of vulnerability.

Trama

La película trata sobre una mujer de unos 60 años que está dispuesta a nadar el tramo Florida - Cuba, por el mismísimo mar, sin ningún tipo de ayuda más que un buen entrenamiento y un bote que va al lado de ella simplemente observándola, revisando que todo esté marchando bien.

La protagonista era nadadora y de joven había intentado este mismo desafío soin éxito, teniendo que desistir casi a último momento porque su vida estaba en juego, pero pasaron más de 30 años y la mujer aún tenía ese pendiente, por lo que se decide a cumplir su sueño y meta, sin importarle en absoluto su edad y contra cualquier mensaje limitante que puedan decirle desde el afuera.

Mientras la mujer trabaja por conseguir su sueño, flashes de su infancia la acechan de alguna manera, enviándole también mensajes y dejando en evidencia cómo hay hechos y eventos en la vida de una persona, que si no son sanados, estarán allí latentes, esperando aflorar en algún momento de vulnerabilidad.

Opinion

I think it is an excellent film. Perhaps it may seem a little boring the fact that almost the entire story takes place with this woman swimming, but I did not find it boring at all, as they leave in evidence the tenacity and persistence of this swimmer.

For me, the fact that it is a true story, takes all the awards, since I believe that many women can be inspired by this story.

More than once we believe that "we are too old for..." and we don't realize that age is in the mind, as well as all the limitations we believe exist.

I recommend watching this movie, because it is an invitation to try to do what you really want to do if for some reason you have found yourself limiting yourself on the way to your personal goal(s).

Me parece una película excelente. Quizás pueda parecer algo aburrido el hecho de que casi toda la historia transcurre con esta mujer nadando, pero a mí no me pareció en absoluto aburrido eso, ya que dejan en evidencia la tenacidad y persistencia de esta nadadora.

Para mí, el hecho de que sea una historia real, se lleva todos los premios, puesto que creo que a muchas mujeres esta historia nos puede servir de inspiración.

Más de una vez creemos que “somos demasiado grandes para…” y no nos damo cuenta de que la edad está en la mente, como también todas las limitaciones que creemos que existen.

Recomiendo ver esta película, pues es una invitación a traverse a hacer lo que uno realmente desea si es que por algún motivo se ha encontrado autolimitándose en el propio camino hacia la/s meta/s personales.

I must make a special mention to Jodie Foster's performance in this movie. She plays the trainer, and I think she herself is already a huge source of inspiration.

Jodie foster was one of the first women in Hollywood to accept her sexuality, paving the way for other girls and guys in the acting world to come out of the closet. But not only that, for those of us who had no references or someone to listen to what we were going through, with doubts and so on, references like Jodie Foster were a support capable of accompanying us, even from an absolute distance and ignorance, in moments of doubt and crisis.

For me she has been an inspiration since I was 19 years old, and it had been a long time since I had seen her act, so I was happy to see her in this Netflix production. Her role, as a trainer and coach in the film, made me remember those moments, because although she is very realistic with the swimmer, she is the one who is by her side accompanying her to achieve her dreams, she believes in her and knows she will succeed.

Debo hacer una mención especial a la actuación de Jodie Foster en esta película. Ella interpreta a la entrenadora, y creo que ya ella misma es una fuente inmensa de inspiración.

Jodie foster fue una de las primeras mujeres de Hollywood en aceptar su sexualidad, abriendo paso a que otras chicas y chicos del mundillo de la actuación pudieran salir del clóset. Pero no solo eso, a quienes no tuvimos referencias ni a alguien que escuchara por lo que estábamos pasando, con dudas y demás, referentes como Jodie Foster fueron un soporte capaz de acompañar, aun desde la absoluta distancia y desconocimiento, en momentos de dudas y crisis.

Para mi ella es una inspiración desde mis 19 años, y hacía mucho que no la veía actuar, por lo que me alegré de ver que estaba en esta producción de Netflix. Su rol, de entrenadora y coach en la película, me hizo indefectiblemente recordar aquellos momentos, pues aunque es muy realista con la nadadora, es quien está a su lado acompañándola para que alcance sus sueños, cree en ella y sabe que lo logrará.
