Perfil Falso is an extremely entertaining series whose main character is Camila, a cabaret dancer who falls in love with a man she meets through a social network, his fictional name is Fernando, a supposed doctor from Colombia, but in truth we are in front of Miguel, a father and husband who works with his father-in-law and wife.

They maintain an intermittent relationship (virtual with some meetings in person) of 4 months and when Cami wants to travel from Las Vegas to see him, it turns out that this man does not exist. She finds him anyway, and starts to make a life right in front of his house, to show him that she knows very well who he is. This, however, is only at the beginning...

Hola mis queridos amigos de Movies & TV Shows, espero que estén teniendo un día maravilloso! En esta oportunidad les acerco una reseña de una serie que vi hace unos meses y al final, por compartir otras reseñas, dejé esta un poco de lado.

Perfil Falso es una serie extremadamente entretenida cuyo personaje principal es Camila, una bailarina de cabaret que se enamora de un hombre que conoce por una red social, su nombre ficticio es Fernando, un supuesto médico de Colombia, pero en verdad estamos frente a Miguel, un padre y esposo que trabaja con su suegro y mujer.

Ellos mantienen una relación intermitente (virtual con algunas reuniones en persona) de 4 meses y cuando Cami quiere viajar desde Las Vegas para verlo, resulta que este hombre no existe. Igualmente lo encuentra, y empieza a hacer una vida justo frente a su casa, para demostrarle que sabe muy bien quién es. Igualmente esto, es al principio…

Plot

As the series progresses, you can see how this man is inserted in a family run by his father-in-law, who all he wants is to protect his daughter and grandchildren, but for that he will do anything, including completely invading the personal space of each member of his family. His main desire is for his daughter to separate from the man who pretends to offer nothing to the family, and who deceives and lies to his daughter.

The point is that she ends up setting several traps for this man, one of which is this dancer, Camila.

Everything indicates, since the beginning of the series, that Camila is only going through the horror of heartbreak: she is devastated to discover that Fernando, this love she met and fell in love with, is actually a certain Miguel, father of two children and husband of an extremely wealthy woman, heir to the fortune of her father, who owns a private neighborhood of great renown in Colombia.

Trama

A medida que avanza la serie, se puede ver cómo este hombre está inserto en una familia manejada por su suegro, que todo lo que quiere es proteger a su hija y a sus nietos, pero por ello hace lo que sea, incluso invadir por completo el espacio personal de cada miembro de su familia. Su deseo principal es que la hija se separe de aquel hombre que aparenta no ofrecer nada a la familia, y que engaña y miente a su hija.

La cuestión es que termina por tenderle varias trampas a este hombre, una de las cuales, es esta bailarina, Camila.

Todo indica, desde que empieza la serie, que Camila solo atraviesa el espanto del desamor: está devastada por descubrir que Fernando, este amor que conoció y del que se enamoró, es en realidad un tal Miguel, padre de dos niños y esposo de una mujer sumamente adinerada, heredera de la fortuna de su padre, quien es dueño de un barrio privado de gran renombre en Colombia.

The thing is, there's a backstory here that we don't know until the end, and that is that to get her mom out of jail, Camila is doing too many things to raise the money needed to pay for her freedom, among those things, is this plan to move in front of Miguel's house (all of this is orchestrated by Miguel's father-in-law).

Cuando Cami viaja a este país para buscar a Fernando, termina por conocer a David, que la ayuda a montar toda una historia para demostrar a Miguel que ella también tiene una vida armada (claro que Camila le paga a David para jugar un precioso ro de marido perfecto). Y al mismo tiempo, Camila es acosada por su ex novio, un chico bastante salido de sus cabales que a toda costa quiere que ella regrese con él.

El tema es que hay un trasfondo aquí que no se sabe sino hasta el final, y es que por sacar a su mamá de la cárcel, Camila está haciendo demasiadas cosas para juntar el dinero necesario para pagar por su libertad, entre esas cosas, está este plan de mudarse frente a la casa de Miguel (todo esto está orquestado por el suegro de éste).

Strengths

In this series we see too many aspects that are very characteristic of extremely traditional families that seek to show perfection where there is not and will not be, and this happens because the family is not lived based on love, but on the basis of "what others will say": if others like it, then everything is fine.

Not only the father tries to control his daughter, but his daughter, once she is sure that her husband is cheating on her, does nothing to change the situation, and ends up involving her son in the subject, but in the end the boy is more managed by his grandfather than by his mother or himself.

Puntos fuertes

En esta serie se ven demasiados aspectos muy característicos en familias en extremo tradicionales que buscan mostrar perfección donde no la hay ni la habrá, y esto ocurre porque no se vive la familia con base en el amor, sino con fundamento en el “qué dirán”: si a los demás les gusta, entonces todo está bien.

No solo el padre intenta controlar a su hija, sino que su hija, una vez segura de que su marido la engaña, tampoco hace nada por cambiar la situación, y termina involucrando a su hijo en la temática, pero al final el chico está más manejado por su abuelo que por su madre o por el mismo.

Hay una mezcla de roles en donde los hijos pasan a actuar como defensores, cuando los problemas entre los padres deberían resolverse dentro del matrimonio y ya.

Y con respecto a Cami, al final es una dentro de un posible repertorio de amantes, pero tiene una muy buena oferta que de paso le ayuda para sus fines, en este caso liberar a su madre de la cárcel. Sin embargo, ella cae de manera estruendosa en la trampa de Miguel, y termina enamorándose de él, al tiempo que David empieza realmente a acompañarla como nunca antes nadie había estado para ella.

Opinion

I really liked the series and got really hooked on the story, but now, at the time of telling it, I see that there have been too many stories in the same plot. Which can be very interesting, but it is messy.

At the time of watching the series, I did not find it cumbersome or unintelligible, although some moments were exaggerated, but now that I analyze the production after watching it, I think I would have taken out some stories, such as Camila's ex-boyfriend, at the end it was not very relevant and ends up hindering the central topic of the production.

Other than that, it was pretty good. I had never seen a Colombian production before and I liked it a lot.

I think it gives rise to a thorough reflection on the roles within a family, the masks, the people we know through social networks, how to act in the face of deception.

Opinión

La serie me gustó mucho y me enganché muchísimo con la historia, pero ahora, al momento de contarla, veo que han sido demasiadas historias en una misma trama. Lo cual puede ser muy interesante, pero resulta desordenado.

Al momento de ver la serie, no me pareció engorroso o inentendible, aunque sí algunos momentos fueron exagerados, pero ahora que analizo la producción después de verla, creo que le hubiese sacado algunas historias, como el ex novio de Camila, al final no era algo muy relevante y termina por entorpecer el tópico central de la producción.

Fuera de esto, fue bastante buena. Nunca había visto una producción colombiana y me gustó mucho.

Creo que da lugar a una reflexión exhaustiva sobre los roles dentro de una familia, las máscaras, las personas que conocemos por redes sociales, el cómo actuar ante un engaño.

At the end of the day I've always thought that if movies or series are there, it's because this kind of things happen. And it's nothing new that fake profiles are commonplace nowadays, it's one of the bad sides of technology (something I've defended since I can remember, but like everything, it has its positive and negative side, that's how it is).

I think it's perfect, especially for younger people, that these stories are shown on streaming platforms like Netflix, because it's a way to tell people: "talk all you want, but pay attention, you don't know who is on the other side of the cell phone".

Al final de cuentas siempre he pensado que si las películas o series están, es porque este tipo de cosas pasan. Y no es novedad que los perfiles falsos sean cuenta corriente hoy en día, es una de las caras malas de la tecnología (algo que defiendo desde que tengo recuerdo, pero que como todo, tiene su lado positivo y el negativo, así es).

Me parece perfecto, en especial para personas más jóvenes, que se muestren estas historias en plataformas de streaming como Netflix, pues es una manera de decirle a la gente: “charla todo lo que quieras, pero atención, que no sabes quién está al otro lado del móvil”.
