My Spy.... (Movie review)

Hello everyone, greetings.

Today is the start of a weekend and I decided to unwind from a hectic work week by watching this movie titled My Spy.

This is a 2020 American spy comedy film directed by Peter Segal. The movie is quite interesting although I didn't have high expectations, the movie delivers on it's comic side. This is not so stellar but it is entertaining and able to keep you glued to your seat. The action scenes combined with the comedy caused the movie to still flow effortlessly.

Synopsis

The movie began with an undercover CIA agent named JJ, on his first major mission to track and stop a nuclear bomb deal but he guffs the mission by blowing his cover. To help him learn to be subtle as an undercover agent and also give him an edge to completing the rest of the mission, he is sent to Kate and her 9 year old genius daughter, Sophie who were living in Chicago. Kate is the widow of a nuclear bomb architect who was murdered by his own brother.

JJ's boss thought that the remaining plans for the nuclear weapons would be with Kate hence the surveillance job. Their mission plan was flawless but Sophie was so precocious that she meddled in their plans. She broke into the cold exterior of JJ'S shell and opened him up to liveliness. At the end the mission was successful with an extra twist to it.

I'm not going to spill, you need to watch it yourselves, hahaha.

My review

The movie is a cool movie. I actually like the charisma of the 9 year old Sophie. Her wittiness and charm and her way of turning the situation to her control is quite outstanding. It's like a David and Goliath scene for me with the big grumpy CIA agent and the cute little witty girl. Her charms kept me entertained a lot especially when she wanted to become a spy. She was not even afraid of a bomb exploding near her. Though some scenes we're quite frightening, like when Sophie was in a damaged plane but the ever smart JJ scared her just in time before the plane explosion. The actor's complimented themselves very well and that was quite ok for me.

So I give a 6/10 review rate.
