Finally joined the action.

”Have you ever felt giddy with happiness when you are about to do something you've been looking forward to doing?”

Well that was how I felt when I finally watched this movie yesternight. I had read some good reviews about it from fellow hivers and that brewed some determination within me to watch the movie and I was so glad I did.

Back in action is unlike most action films that start with boring stuff, with the action parts coming in later. The action was actioning, from the start of the movie.

I will confess that I was drawn to the movie because of the lead actors, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz but most of all, I wanted to see them do what they know how to do best…….”action” 😁.

I liked Jamie Foxx from the movie Annie while I liked Cameron Diaz for her exquisite role in Charlie's Angels. So sewing them together in one movie was super duper fun for me.

Synopsis

The movie begins from the events of 15 years ago with Jamie and Cameron, who were CIA spies infiltrating the birthday of a Polish terrorist named Gor, to steal a key that could control any and all electronic systems. This key referred to as the ICS was extremely important and if it fell into the wrong hands, it would mean world class disaster.

The spies were successful but their plane was sabotaged right after Cameron breaks the news of her pregnancy to Jamie, who was thrilled by the way 😁. A fierce battle ensues, compromising the plane and leading to a crash. Jamie and Diaz decided to go ”off grid”, live simple civilian lives and raise their family.

They were successful for 15 years until their teenage daughter began to act up because of their secrets. She lied, went to a club to party causing her parents to worry. They eventually get to the club and in an attempt to get their daughter out of there, a fight ensues. The fight was recorded and uploaded online, becoming a beacon that drew foes and friends to their doorstep.

”Who were the foes and who were the friends?” ….that is for you guys to find out 😁.

Likes and dislikes

For the whole 114 minutes of this movie, I found nothing to dislike about it. I liked the camaraderie between Jamie and Cameron and their struggle to raise their kids properly while allowing them to be expressive.

I usually say that children are sensitive. They can sense when their parents are keeping them in the dark. Such was the case in the movie. The blend of betrayal and retribution was also a joy.

I liked how Jamie took the role of a fun parent while Cameron was an overly paranoid parent but they did make a great team both as CIA agents and as parents.

Generally, the movie was fun to watch from start to finish. There was no dull moment and the lead actors aced their game. I think the storyline might seem old fashioned but the execution and delivery of each role and parts made the movie a fun one.

If you are looking for action mixed with a splash of comedy, then Back in action is that movie for you.

I rate this movie a loving 9/10 because I enjoyed the action and laughed at the comedy.

Thank you all for reading... Shalom

When you see Cameron Diaz and Jamie foxx in a movies, just know it about to go down! I know it going to be funny. I saw it on IMDb but the rating was low, and I was wondering why.

Thanks for sharing your review
