The Penguin (Serie) (2024)

Colin Farrell brilliantly recreates Ozzie Cobb. We already saw this character in the movie “Batman”, but on this new occasion he once again demonstrates how great the character is.

It is evident that the care and dedication of the actor made his performance impeccable.

His way of walking, his characteristic scars, his gold teeth, his grimaces and gestures. All this enriches the character with nuances and double interpretations.

Penguin shows us the different faces and contexts in which the protagonists are involved. We would see him as a son, a murderer, a boss, a father and even a friend.

Through every moment and key point of the character throughout the plot, we learn that he is perfect for chaos and disaster.

A calculating man who knows how to speak in every situation to get what he wants no matter what the price to pay. Ingredients to make this story a Molotov cocktail that explodes at any moment.

I also want to highlight the character of Vic. It seemed to me that he helps a lot to know the Penguin better, as if he were a window for us to understand how his mind works.

Also, I get the impression that this character is going to be key in Oswald's evolution throughout the series, as I can tell that the Penguin is going to be changing with every decision he makes.

In The Penguin we are introduced to the havoc and consequences caused by the flood, facts presented in the movie The Batman.

In fact, it is paramount to the development of this series since it triggers a new direction for new characters who will meet Oz Cobb.

It is a city that has succumbed to chaos and we are shown with different resources such as bright colors with strong shadows in the dark nights of Gotham.

I won't say it's the best series of 2024 because all 8 episodes have to come out first, but I'm not lying in any way when I say the series is very good and could be if the development does it justice.
