She lives in Manhattan and is the last of a clan of vampires who survive thanks to the blood of her mortal lovers to whom she offers to live forever but who she discards, the last of them is John, played by the famous singer David Bowie who had a positive experience with the film The Man Who Fell to Earth in 1976, who has begun to age and seeks help from a doctor who specializes in reversing decrepitude.

Her name is Sarah Roberts and she is played by Susan Sarandon, a multiple Oscar nominee, who becomes the object of the vampire's desire to replace Jhoh.

The film was not well received at the beginning and was considered a post-modernist vampire film based on the tradition of the lesbian vampire, however it found a fan base that transformed it into a cult film among some segments of the gothic subculture.

The acting of the trio of protagonists was undoubtedly very good and the film brings back the sensuality of the vampire figure.
