The end (2024)

The arrival of a young woman, from who knows where (Moses Ingram), arouses mistrust and suspicion.
However, no one expected that, besides staying and becoming a crucial part of the family, the masks they all wear in this peculiar dance they have to live, will be falling. What they hide is neither pleasant nor kind.
The End could well be a true psychological study. It is a mirror of the wickedness, of the baseness of the human being.
Yes, one of those that reflect what is not apparently seen. Of the lies we tell ourselves to justify our bad actions and defects. Surviving is not easy.

The fact is that everyone wants to live a normality that does not exist. The end of the world has arrived and they are the only privileged ones who can count on it.
Life comes at a very high cost, and in that house, there is a contained tension in the air. All it takes is a tiny spark to light the fuse for everyone to explode.
And curiously, it is they themselves who are going to pull their tongues out, by way of redemption. I'm bad, but you're no better.
Without a doubt, the character played by Irish actress Bronah Gallagher is the most surprising. When it all blows up, she will recognize something truly horrible and painful. Painful, above all, for herself, as she has never come to forgive herself.
The ending of The End leaves a bittersweet taste, it is the end of the world that no one wants. History repeats itself; after the collective catharsis, once again they have to play the role they have played in this horrifying situation.
Joshua Oppenheimer's risky and somewhat extravagant work. The End is like a cocktail shaker with many ingredients that do not combine very well, but that for pure strangeness should be tried. It is about the end of the world that nobody wants.

The way you lay emphasis on the end of the film and what it entails makes me itch to want to see it. Maybe I should. Thank you for sharing this. Nice review, by the way.
