Rebel Ridge (2024)

Rebel Ridge, directed and written by Jeremy Saulnier, promises to be one of the most entertaining films of the year.
The trick the film comes up with is to offer us a quiet thriller, with limited action but a simple story framed like good genre titles.
An extremely precise script takes the viewer in a whole new way, one step behind our hero in a combination of action and social drama that celebrates intelligence that once again finds its special stamp.

His acting brings a distinct charm and satisfaction to everything we see, the good characters are very good and the bad characters are very bad, and the performances are captivating throughout the story we see.
Aaron Pierre stands out as an understated hero who wins without facial expressions but has remarkable physical charisma, and the cartoonish Don Johnson shines as a satisfying villain.
In short, Netflix and Jeremy Saulnier bring us a film filled with ever-present tension and a wary hero's journey but one that has the right purpose and intensity from the start.
The director went back to his roots and sought to create a horror film that drinks from the essence of the genre, but allows himself to freely add new elements that you may not like at first, but when you look at the end of the film without unnecessary complications. The film's ending, for sure you will know that you had a good time before the screening with a proposal that the director knows how to execute correctly.
It's a great film, surprisingly simple, wonderfully funny and full of action-packed survival, but it ranks among the most entertaining films of all of 2024.
