Juror #2 (2024)

Justin Kemp, a regional magazine writer who had a past alcohol problem, was married to Allison and they were expecting a dangerous pregnancy.

When he was summoned to sit on a jury in a murder trial, he tried to evade responsibility, but the judge told him that was no reason not to participate.

The trial was for the murder of a girl named Kendall Carter, who died in a ravine after a violent argument with her boyfriend in a crowded bar.

Her partner, James Shyte, is the only suspect, but something is not clear.

Conscience, morality and justice are the basis of this unique story with precise storytelling, well-crafted dialogue , where the judiciary is faced with sometimes decisive decisions that can go wrong.

The suspense is set, Nicholas Hoult is directly involved in the process, as he is going through a serious personal crisis and knows something about this event.

Zoey Deutch is the charming wife and Toni Collette and Chris Messina are the lawyers and prosecutors who will preside over the trial.

Another important supporting role is that of a retired cop, played by J.K. Simmons .

The film was shot in Savanah, Georgia, where Clint Eastwood filmed ‘Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil’ in 1997, and features an impressive cameo by Mark Mancina in a style that Eastwood has filmed in the past.

At 94 years old, Clint Eastwood has been able to shoot his 42nd film, and after the puncture of ‘Cry Macho’ he is back with force with this interesting script by Jonathan Abrams reminding us of mythical films such as ‘12 Men Without Mercy’ or ‘Final Verdict’, offering us a classic judicial drama like those of the 80s - 90s.
