SISU | REVIEW [ESP-ENG]
Sisu es una película Finlandesa de 2022, dirigida por Jalmari Helander. Les confieso que no conozco películas del director; sin embargo, me detuve en leer sobre la categoría bélica que me cautiva; también es género, acción, western y años 40. Resulta que expone una idea genial, desde mi visión, relata una historia al final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial; cuenta la existencia de un soldado retirado que se dedica a buscar oro, pero se ve obligado a enfrentar nazis que escapan hacia el norte de Finlandia. El desenlace empieza cuando los nazis roban el tesoro del minero; no obstante, el grupo de la muerte desconoce que batalla con un hombre nada ordinario. Resulta que, Sisu, palabra finlandesa que no tiene traducción, será comprendida al observar la representación del ex militar en tener coraje en situaciones agobiantes, sin importar cuántos se les atraviese.
Stumbling upon visual creations that take your breath away is definitely the best. No matter the genre, the point of connection as a spectator is born at the moment you are part of the feeling of the plot, no matter if the visualized is real or fictitious, but it involves you to be part of the idea. In addition, it is a different kind of projection in this era of cinema that reinvents itself to transmit messages and that sometimes has power. I compared the experience seen with magnificent well rated films that left me full. Sisu made me shudder, take a deep breath to assimilate strong and inordinate events. It was worth the wait to start writing in Hive and in the present community, therefore, I resume making publications with what I enjoy the most, watching movies.
Sisu is a Finnish film from 2022, directed by Jalmari Helander. I confess that I do not know the director's films; however, I stopped to read about the war category that captivates me; it is also genre, action, western and 40s. It happens to expose a great idea. From my vision, it tells a story at the end of World War II; it tells the existence of a retired soldier who is dedicated to searching for gold but is forced to face Nazis who escape to northern Finland. The denouement begins when the Nazis steal the miner's treasure; however, the death squad is unaware that they are battling a very ordinary man. As it turns out, Sisu, a Finnish word that has no translation, will be understood by observing the ex-serviceman's portrayal of having courage in overwhelming situations, no matter how many people get in their way.
En cuanto a las imágenes, totalmente fascinantes, hay escenas hermosas de paisajes que se mezclan con hechos atroces. Te pierdes en un paisaje de colores llamativos mezclados en montañas, cielo, lago y neblina que esconde algo; las imágenes te hacen sentir sentimientos encontrados en una guerra breve entre un grupo de soldados nazis y un hombre solitario. En la proyección se pueden apreciar explosiones, hechos sangrientos y efectos que te hacen estremecer. En relación con el sonido, es vibrante escuchar la música parecida a la nórdica, donde se mezcla el metal, canto o instrumentos; aparte los efectos especiales de tanques, explosiones, disparos, avión, naturaleza, etc. que según la escena te preparan para algo sorprendente. Les comparto que, por un momento, pensé que veía una película de Quentin Tarantino; así que no sirve la crítica, sino vivir cada desenlace ficticio que promueva tensión.
The film is made up of titled chapters that explain the reason, which I liked because it segments the story to know, in part, the development that is increasingly explosive. The sparse dialogues are perfect to explain the main idea. As for the filming model, it is developed in a general shot that provides information as well as a medium shot of the environment and character to make the ex-military man the one who matters. All this, for me, brings together the features of a perfect film creation.
As for the images, they are totally fascinating; there are beautiful scenes of landscapes mixed with atrocious facts. You get lost in a landscape of bright colors mixed with mountains, sky, lake and fog that hides something; the images make you feel mixed feelings about a brief war between a group of Nazi soldiers and a lonely man. In the projection, you can appreciate explosions, bloody events and effects that make you shudder. In relation to the sound, it is vibrant to listen to music similar to the Nordic, where metal, singing or instruments are mixed, apart from the special effects of tanks, explosions, gunshots, airplanes, nature, etc. that, according to the scene, prepare you for something surprising. I share with you that, for a moment, I thought I was watching a Quentin Tarantino movie, so it is not useful to criticize but to live each fictitious denouement that promotes tension.
El reparto actoral es importante, pero el peso no lo llevan los nazis o los prisioneros. Quien tiene el peso interpretativo revelador es Jorma Tommila, puesto que, es el militar que traduce en acciones la palabra Sisu, es decir, determinante para enfrentar el batallón y recuperar lo que ha perdido. Físicamente, la piel posee cicatrices que narran la historia de vida personal, describiendo un sujeto fuerte y pensativo que anticipa la reacción del enemigo. Él es la leyenda, todos huyen ante su presencia, ya que es "inmortal". Se caracteriza por tener calma, él sabe cómo protegerse porque siempre tiene un plan y es cauteloso. Entonces cada acción es la demostración del fenómeno Sisu en cada capítulo o etapa de la película que conlleva la venganza.
¿Por qué debo ver Sisu? Invito a los espectadores que les gustan las películas de acción y violencia, a contemplar una proyección que asegura entretenimiento; además, el afiche de la película te describe que es un film independiente, centrado en un personaje vibrante e imponente con una tipografía grande en amarillo que capta la atención. Recomiendo disfrutar de una obra que te deja sorprendido con los efectos, paisajes y la manera decisiva para representar el guion, en otras palabras, la pesadilla en vida de quienes se atrevan a desafiar a un hombre impredecible para arremeter salvajemente al estilo oeste un convoy de nazis. ¿Cuántos Sisu existieron en esa época para acabar con la maldad de manera valiente? La película me hizo pasear por el valor de Rambo y Duró de Matar, donde no existen cuestionamientos para decir que lo exagerado queda exquisito.
The cast is important, but the weight is not carried by the Nazis or the prisoners. Jorma Tommila is the one who has the most revealing interpretative weight, since he is the military man who translates the word Sisu into actions, that is, decisive to confront the battalion and recover what he has lost. Physically, the skin has scars that tell the story of personal life, describing a strong and thoughtful subject who anticipates the reaction of the enemy. He is the legend; everyone flees in his presence, as he is "immortal". He is characterized by calmness; he knows how to protect himself because he always has a plan and is cautious. So every action is a demonstration of the Sisu phenomenon in each chapter or stage of the film that leads to revenge.
Why should I see Sisu? I invite viewers who like action and violence movies to contemplate a screening that ensures entertainment; in addition, the movie poster describes it as an independent film, centered on a vibrant and imposing character with a large yellow typography that captures attention. I recommend enjoying a work that leaves you amazed with the effects, landscapes and the decisive way to represent the script—in other words, the nightmare in life of those who dare to challenge an unpredictable man to lunge wildly west style a convoy of Nazis. How many Sisu existed at that time to end evil in a brave way? The movie made me walk through the courage of Rambo and Die Hard, where there are no questions to say that Over the Top is exquisite.

Sisu es increíble. Cuando la vi quedé muy sorprendido, el gore que tiene es muy top, creo que sin eso la película no sería lo mismo. Y bueno ni hablar de la perseverancia del tipo. Capaz sueno muy crudo pero toda película en donde se maten a nazis es obligada de ver, algo así como Bastardos sin Gloria.

Tienes razón, creó que género un encanto o coqueteo inmediato conmigo por la dirección y guión en explicar la determinación de Sisu. Comprendo la expresión que comoartes al final, pero la realidad del paso genera esos sentimientos.
Pronto publicaré acerca de otras experiencias pero no nuevas sino antiguas que veo con una joven curiosa por proyecciones pasadas. Su expresión es fantástica.
