Hey there Hivers! It has been a while since I posted a blog here. If I'm being honest, it has been about almost two weeks. I apologize for that, an explanation will be coming your way with this blog. But first of all, let's talk about that title!

The title of this blog seems a bit strange don't you think? But it's actually just Gen Z slang lol. Let me explain and define it for a bit hehe.

COOKED

In our (Gen Z) slang being "cooked" has the same meaning as the expression: I'm toast. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, it means: to be likely to be unsuccessful, destroyed, or dead. In other words, the word is associated with a negative connotation. The context I'm using in my title is about me being unsuccessful.

COOKING

In the Gen Z slang, the word "cooking" is quite similar to another Gen Z slang: slaying. Both words mean that a person is doing well or is doing exceptionally well. The word "cooking" can also be replaced with another phrase, which is: I'm killing it. Overall, the word is a positive affirmation.

Gen Z has a weird but creative way of saying certain phrases don't they? 🤷‍♀

Now that I've explained the meaning of my title, I am asking that question to myself. Am I not doing great, or am I? My mind has been a little blurry for a little while now if I am being honest. It feels like I've been through hell HAHAHAH. I'm joking! I only mean it in a metaphorical way my dear Hivers.

EXAMS

Just last week, I had my exams. It was a little bit taxing considering that our school decided to just do blended learning. I have mixed feelings about that. I'm glad that my school has decided to take action and address the heat that we've been experiencing here in the Philippines. However, I just found out that I am the type of student who doesn't like it and gets bored when they have online classes.

ONLINE CLASSES

I always find a way to distract myself during some of the online classes. Some classes were already dull in face-to-face classes/subjects, but having an online class in those classes became even duller. I am not a delinquent or a bad student, in fact, I'm actually an honor student huhu.

But in those times I get bored during online classes, I can't help but do something that stimulates my mind. I play an online game for a minute or so while class goes on in the background lol. I made sure to listen just enough so I could answer some questions correctly if I ever got called to answer.

WRITING

For these past few weeks, I've been writing a lot for schoolwork lately. I remember writing an application letter for a "job application", an essay about Holy Week, 4 news articles about climate change, global warming, and stuff like that. Between the exams and the blended learning, I was and still am dealing with tasks like this. I have a strong passion for writing, that's actually here in Hive hehe💙. I'm quite lucky to be here!

But sometimes, I get so busy that I barely have any time to rest and unwind. But I guess that life works like this when you're looking forward to being successful right?

FRIENDS

My friends are my rock in this rough patch I'm going through. I know that they are also going through a lot in life and in school right now, but I am so lucky to have them. Just being in their presence makes me feel grounded. I am reminded that I am here and am alive. Despite being an introvert, these specific cuties just recharge me by talking to them.

MOVIE DATE

My friends (@rainebow0407 being one of them) and I went to my friend's house to just relax and watch a movie. We watched a thriller/horror movie called Malignant. We cooked ourselves some lunch and prepared for our movie date. We looked like a cute little family not gonna lie hehe.

After watching the movie, my friends and I had a good time trying to decipher some clues and subtle foreshadowing that were at the beginning of the movie. The theories we had in our heads while watching the movie were actually correct! I won't spoil the movie for you guys, you have to watch the movie yourselves and concoct your own theories!

ROLLER SKATING

I went roller skating with the same 3 best friends. I had such a good time learning how to use the roller skates! Although, I did fall on my bottom way too many times. I still feel some aches around my body from roller skating, but it was totally worth it.

I never would have thought that I'd be roller skating with my friends on a school day. Not just any school day, IT WAS A MONDAY. We really had guts lol. We actually had to do it that day because of of my friends was going to Bantayan for Flores De Mayo.

So far, those are the things that happened to me these past two weeks my dear readers. Do you think that I am cooked or am I cooking? I'd rather be an optimist than a pessimist (I'm pessimistic most of the time). It's never wrong to feel helpless or tired but it's never wrong to assume the best in yourself as well.
