Greetings!

Have you ever thought what if you are not the only one residing in your body that something is stored in you as a "prisoner"? That would be scary, what if it is true and we don't know about it? Enter "Alienoid" a Korean Sci-Fi film that is set in the past and present-day Korea

Alienoid is about an Alien entity that is chasing escaped prisoners from past and present day Korea with parts of the film set in the past and in present day Korea. It is a fun, entertaining, and humorous Sci-Fi film about the battles of good and evil Aliens.

Surprisingly entertaining opening scenes

The first scene of "Alienoid" is great. The idea of an alien entity hunting down prisoners in 1380 Korea is very interesting. The 1380 setting is disturbed by an alien hunting down another alien from present-day Korea is great. The 1380 fashion of Korean and present-day aliens surprisingly complement each other. Other than the 1380 Korean fashion another thing that caught my interest is the physical appearance of a "Guard" alien is very menacing and seems very futuristic and deadly. Alienoid definitely can give Hollywood a run for its money.

Great alien design

Just like I said previously I like the design/appearance of the protagonist alien called "Guard". The appearance and menacing, are very futuristic, tough, and unique since I have not seen anything like it before. Honestly, when I saw the trailer of the two aliens slugging it out inside an elevator I was in awe of the appearance of the two combatants. Not only does the protagonist look great but also the antagonist alien's white and red colors. The appearance of the antagonist alien is also great.

Great elevator fight scene

I like the fight scene in the elevator which I first saw in a trailer. To be honest, before I saw "Alienoid" I think I only seen such a battle scene in Hollywood films. After realizing that the film was Korean it made me very very impressed and I ended up watching it for this review. If you are going to analyze the battle scene in the elevator you can say to yourself that the scene is commonly seen in Hollywood but then other countries can do it too, like Korea.

Kim Woo-bin is effortlessly handsome

In this film, Kim Woo-bin is effortlessly handsome. His costume and hairstyle make him effortlessly handsome. His acting is also great and seems he effortlessly delivers in each of his scenes.

Kim Woo-bin's style/fashion in this film is effortlessly handsome, his facial feature is very manly yet he looks like a very nice and gentle guy

Great special effects

The special effects on Thunder going from a human to a flying orb are also great. I have seen similar special effects in some films that I watched but the effect is similar but a little bit different. The scene at the hospital where prisoners are put up to humans in the hospital is also next level, I think I have never seen it before.

Unique spaceship design

When I saw the appearance of the spaceship of the antagonist alien it made me think that this film is no pushover I am sure the writer and the designer of this movie must have thought thoroughly about the appearance of the spaceship and I have to admit that the appearance of both of the spaceships are impressive and seems unique. Not only that this spaceship is unique in its design, but it is also unique when vertical landing.

The spaceship of the antagonists

Great scene transition

I also like the scene transition of this film. The switching of a scene from the 1380s to the present is nice. Every time the scene switches it brings some good scenes. The entire film switches a lot from the 1380s to the present but it was done so nicely that you will lose track of what is happening.

Unexpected twists

There are also some surprise twists in this film. I am not going to spoil it for you here because I want you to watch it. If you have an observant ear and you love to analyze scenes I think you will be able to guess the twists in this film, for one, made me curious about the dialogue where one of the protagonists has some visions (multiple) throughout the film which makes me curious, to be honest.

Funny scenes and funny sound effects

I like that this film includes some funny scenes which make me laugh at them. I never thought that this film was funny (which made this film great). I think the funny scene is typical for a Korean film (which they are very good at in making funny scenes).

Conclusion

All in all this film is great. It has humorous/funny scenes, but not much drama. The director has done a great job in stitching all the scenes from the 1380s and present-day Korea. The funny scenes and sound effects made this film very easy to watch and very much entertaining.

If you love Sci-Fi, if you are starting to like Korean films, if you want something if you haven't watched a Korean Sci-Fi before this is for you. You are in for a treat on this film. Make sure you have some snacks by your side because when you start watching this film you will not want to stop until the end.

That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
