Movie Review: Vikings (2013)

It has always been something I really enjoyed when trying out list of interesting series and movies and I must confess it is always an amazing feeling. Even though recently that academics have affected my movie life, I will say some of the movies I have watched have been something I still wish I could watch and watch again over and over again. In today, I will be sharing with you one particular movie I watched years ago which is Vikings. I believe many of us must have heard about the movie before. Quite a very interesting movie and in fact among the list of my top 20 movies of all time.

Viking been focus on ancient history brought out as a television series and which was created by Michael Hirst. One of the things the series successful l does was to allow the viewers have an understanding about the medieval warfare and the social dynamics attached to it. The series focus majorly the legendary Viking Chieftain Ragnar Lothbrok. One of the things that got me attracted to the movie after watching the trailer was the stunning visuals and one of the things that kept me watching the series going was the engaging storytelling.

"Vikings which helps to demonstrate and follow the great exploit achieve by Ragnar Lothbrok who is an ancient historical figure that has a legendary status. The series started by the humble rise of him as a farmer and gradually growing to become the legendary Norse hero that went across every part of Europe. He plays a very fundamental role in the shaping and structuring of Viking history.

Let me talk about the storytelling because it is really something that gets me glued to the series over and over again. The storytelling was able to balance both the historical happenings and with dramatic events which create a narration that at the end of the day was both educational and also entertaining. Having the season, the first season brings the introduction of Ragnar Lothbrok couple with his family and also his own personal quest to explore the world.

The series gives me a perfect display of the viking raid that showcase the realities atcages to the world. It also helps to delve into the both political and the social part of the time. That is even one of the aspects of the series that makes it so entertaining for me so much I must confess as it helps to give us an expression of various people with their leaders. Then as the movie keeps progressing, there is an introduction of power themed, destiny and other mysteries events in the movie. Trust me, this successfully tied down viewers engaging to the movie.

I will also like to talk about the character development in the movie. Ragnar Lothbrok was portrayed as someone who is charismatic and both strict and bold. Ragnar been the major cast of the movie is a visionary leader in the series and not only that but one of the aspect I love about Ragnar in the movie is the solid loyalty he has towards his family and his homeland.

Then I will say some of the supporting characters in the series helps to contribute to the show been entertaining and worth watching. Supporting characters like Lagertha who was acted by Kathryn Winnick, there is also the Ragnar wife. We have the Ragnar's brother. The introduction of these supporting characters gives motivation, transformation all through the series and helps to enhance the entertaining factor of the series keeping the viewers in suspense.

'Vikings* both as a series and as a movie was able to be able to successfully grounded in historical view. It draws it's source from historical facts according to what I see in the movie and ancient record also. Even though the series sometimes exaggerates events or historical happenings, I will probably say it is to enhance the drama and to make it appealing to the viewers.

I will also talk about the production quality of the movie because trust me it is one of the factors I consider when selecting the movie I actively want to watch every single time. Well I will say the production quality of "Vikings" was amazing. The design, the costumes that was used and generally the cinematography involved in the movie was top notched also. I noticed something that there was the use of practical effects in the movies and the fact that they were accurate with the display of historical facts and events in the series makes it to be top notch for me.

As I conclude, I will say "Vikings" 2023 is a movie that I will watch over and over again without not getting tired. It is a historical drama that helps to combine a whole lot of things in one. Such as the storytelling just like I discussed, the character development and the production quality values. It helps to introduce and blend historical facts to create a very entertaining narrative.

The most amazing thing I found about the movie is the fact that it was able to bring the historical events that happens into drama display. I am so sure there must have been so much effort and expenses that was put in the production of the movie and at the end of the day, it was really able to give that satisfying viewing experience every viewer will enjoy.
