I recently watched Look Back and that's the first reason why I clicked on the post due to the thumbnail. I agree with the above sentiments. Anime just has a different vibe that sends the same message you've heard dozens of times and repackages it like new without being disappointed.

I'm glad that that prompted you to read the post, and yes, although there are several movies about bullying (for example), my favorite by far is A Silent Voice, because as you say, anime manages to do something different
