Sicario Day of the Soldado is a sequel to the 2015 film Sicario The film continues to explore the war on drugs between the United States and Mexico focusing on the escalation of violence and organized crime The story begins with a terrorist attack in Kansas City leading the US government to believe that Mexican cartels are smuggling terrorists across the border Agent Matt Graver Josh Brolin and mysterious advisor Alejandro Benicio del Toro are called in to stir up chaos among the cartels by kidnapping the daughter of a cartel leader.

Josh Brolin gives a strong and steady performance as usual as Agent Matt Grever His tough practical personality embodies the complexity and harsh reality of working in this field Benicio del Toro reprises his role as Alejandro with a deep sense of mystery and revenge adding a human dimension to the character and enhancing the drama of the story Isabella Moner who plays the kidnapped daughter gives a poignant performance that reflects fear and internal conflict.
