A Dark Theme Thriller Movie - God is a Bullet

Hello everyone, I welcome you all once again to my blog, and I am very excited to write and share my blog here in this community. As I said in my first movie review, I will continue to share my wonderful movie reviews here and also make some recommendations for you guys to watch. God is a Bullet is a movie that was directed by Nick Cassavetes and Starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jamie Foxx, and Maika Monroe. It was released in 2023 and is an action movie of course. The main character in the movie is Detective Bob Hightower whose teenage daughter was kidnapped by a satanic cult and not only that, also killed his ex-wife.

This left him in a miserable life where he had to drink and even quit his job as a Policeman because he realized the revenge he would be taking would go against his profession. He then teams up with a former cult member who happens to have escaped their brutality to help in rescuing his daughter. At first, Bob wanted to follow the principles of the FBI but then Monroe was able to convince her not to involve the FBI and that they could both track them and find her daughter safely. These cults used to capture people and train them to be one of them and I don't any sense that makes to me.

The movie contains a lot of violence and dark themes making it look scary to watch. I saw it to be like a horror movie because of the cultish lifestyle and gameplay in the movie. The movie never fails to teach the audience of the redemption story it portrays. The movie showed a good performance from the entire cast including a strong atmospheric direction and cinematography which was maintained throughout the 2 hours of the movie. It also portrayed how complex human beings can be and its consequences. The characters in the movie especially Coster-Waldau and Monroe played an extraordinary and masterclass performance in the movie.

However, there were some flaws in the movie which I didn’t like about it. The slow pacing in the movie which was happening occasionally was boring thing to me and with its violent and dark themes content was a challenge for me to watch such a thing at a slow pace. The intensity of the violent content may deter some people from watching, especially those individuals who aren’t a fan of horror movies. Dark theme and horror movie lovers will like this film or give it a higher rating.

I would give this movie a rating of 6.5 out of 10 and for recommendations I won’t recommend it for kids and low-hearted people.
